The circle that is Paying it Forward
Paying it forward …
… if you’ve read any of my blogs before, you will know that I am rather keen on Paying it forward in Vanuatu.
Wikipedia describes the concept of “Pay it forward” as “an expression for describing the beneficiary of a good deed repaying it to others instead of to the original benefactor”.
I’ve told you the story of how a “Pay it forward” moment was paid to me recently by Paddy from Acupuncture Richmond, in the form of my airfare being covered to visit Vanuatu in early December. The story doesn’t stop there.
A wonderful moment occurred this week, when I was visiting Anni a Chiropodist and Beautician, from Anni Fekete to get my little toes sorted for summer 🙂 I told Anni the story about how wonderful it was to receive the gift of the airfare to Vanuatu to move forward the Washable Sanitary Systems Project. I had barely finished telling the story when Anni said she wanted to gift a special treatment for Paddy. And so she did. Yesterday, I delivered the gift to Paddy – she was delighted.
And that is what can happen, when we take ourselves to a place where we truly connect with our fellow human beings.
It doesn’t have to be about money.
All it requires is a twinkle in your heart that you recognise, acknowledge and act upon.
